Two officers from the Fiji Corrections Service will depart tomorrow for the Peopleโs Republic of China to attend international seminars aimed at furthering their expertise and professional development in their respective fields.
This afternoon, Corrections Officer Class A (COA) Katarina Vulitikovakacegu and Assistant Superintendent of Corrections (ASC) Lasarusa Rokovunisei traditionally presented their itatau to the Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Mr Sevuloni Naucukidi.
The Acting Commissioner extended his well wishes, urging the officers to make the most of this valuable opportunity. He expressed confidence that their learning will significantly benefit the organisation upon their return.
COA Vulitikovakacegu, a Human Resources officer, will be attending the Seminar on Digital Economy Development and Information System, scheduled to take place in Beijing from July 10 to July 24, 2025.
The training will expose her to innovative digital solutions and modern technological frameworks relevant to institutional management and digital transformation.
ASC Lasarusa Rokovunisei, the FCS Manager Projects, will participate in the Seminar on Construction and Management in Hangzhou from July 10 to July 31, 2025. This program will enhance his capabilities in infrastructure development, project planning, and correctional facility management.
Mr Naucukidi acknowledged the opportunities the FCS has now for the professional development of its staff through a new initiative by the Ministry of Civil Service and the Peoples Republic Of China.
The Fiji Corrections Service continues to invest in international training and capacity-building opportunities as part of its broader commitment to professional excellence and institutional advancement.
The duo brings to eight the number of personnel who have undertaken this program this year.
