The Supervisor Southern Division, Superindentent Tuapati Kacivi recently completed a training attachment in Japan.
The initiative, organized through the Ministry of Justice and JICA, Fiji was conducted through the month of August at UNAFEI, Akishima City, Tokyo.
This brings to a total of 12 FCS personnel who have undergone training attachments in China, India and Japan for Corrections related courses this year alone.
SP Kacivi said, learning from bigger countries was always an eye opener as they have already have in place proven and tested practices to integrate offenders back to society.
“We had people from 14 countries who participated in the program from Asian countries, Pacific , Europe, and the African continent. It was great to share experiences as well.”
The program centered on the theories of offenders Rehabilitation and their Effective Implementation.
