Today, the Fiji Corrections Coffee Shop in Korovou, Suva, hosted the opening of a two-day workshop on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
The workshop brought together Officers in Charge of all Corrections Institutions, Divisional Psychologists and Counsellors, Institutional Rehabilitation Officers, and Divisional Rehabilitation Officers to deepen their understanding and reaffirm their commitment to the rights enshrined in the CRPD.
Facilitating the workshop was Mrs. Sera Osbourne, Office Manager of the Psychiatric Survivors Association, alongside her dedicated team.

In his opening address, the Director of Human Resources Management, Superintendent Aisea Vucago, extended his appreciation to the Psychiatric Survivors Association for their invaluable contribution. He emphasized that the CRPD is not just an international agreement, but a powerful framework that champions the inherent dignity, equality, and autonomy of every individual.
This initiative underscores the Fiji Corrections Serviceโs ongoing commitment to rehabilitation that upholds human rights and respects the worth of all persons.
