It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved colleague and friend, 73416 CIV Onoria Filomena Vakaloloma Mosilio.
CIV Mosilo was a psychologist based at National Headquarters at the time of her passing.
Today, the FCS joined her family, friends, and comrades at Naivucini Village, Naitasiri to celebrate her life and lay her to rest with full service honours. Nauvicini is the village of her loving husband, our colleague COC Taniela Mosilio,
CIV Mosilo dedicated six years and three months of unwavering service to the people of Fiji. She began her journey as a Psychologist, serving with immense compassion in the Central Eastern, Western, and Northern Divisions. Her exceptional dedication and skill saw her transferred to our National Headquarters, where she served as the NHQ Counselor, touching countless more lives.
Onoria was more than a psychologist; she was a kind ear and a comforting presence for so many. She worked in our facilities across the nation, from the Central Eastern to the Northern Division, and finally at our Headquarters, always focused on one thing: helping people heal. She believed deeply in second chances and worked tirelessly in our rehabilitation programs to make them possible.
Her care knew no bounds. She provided crucial counseling not only to those in our care but also to our officers, understanding the weight of the work they do daily. She was a brave voice for mental health and well-being for all, always reminding us to look after one another. Her careful assessments even helped guide the Presidential pardon process, a responsibility she held with the utmost seriousness and compassion.
Onoriaโ€™s kindness changed lives. She helped people find hope and strength they didnโ€™t know they had. She made our service a more humane and caring place, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire us.
Her profound impact is her enduring legacy. She empowered countless individuals to break cycles of recidivism and stress by giving them a listening ear, a compassionate heart, and the courage to believe in their own capacity for change. Onoria didn’t just perform her duties; she served with utmost gratitude and a genuine desire to heal. Her legacy is etched into the very fabric of our rehabilitation programs and lives on in every life she transformed.
The Fiji Corrections Service extends its deepest condolences to her loving husband, our colleague COC Taniela Mosilio, their daughter, Sinaleteuila Vakaseleyasi, and all her family and loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Rest in Peace, 73416 CIV Onoria Vakaloloma. Your light and service will never be forgotten.
