The men from National Headquarters and women from Central Eastern Division scooped volleyball titles today.
The Fiji Corrections Service Inter-Divisional volleyball competition concluded day 3 of the 150 Years celebrations this afternoon.
The Jiuta Vateitei led NHQ men’s team fought to the wire to win both sets against the men from Naboro, representing Southern Division.
All though they won in two straight sets, it was not fully one sided.
The women’s division saw former national rep Naomi Talemaitoga leading her team to victory in two sets against Western Division.
The team furtherest traveled from Labasa and Taveuni took out the Mixed category against NHQ in a closely fought match 2 to 1.
The Best Male Player award went to Meli Rauluitoga from Southern while NHQs Lite Tabucakau took out the Best Female player award.
Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Mr Sevuloni Naucukidi congratulated the winners and shared that in the end, team work and playing with intent will always prevail in any activity.
“I know that some of you probably pushed your limits and it was great to watch this wonderful display you all put on today.
“Today’s event in hindsight should all put into perspective the importance of team work and camaraderie. I congratulate the winners but most of all i congratulate your efforts.
