The Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Mr. Auta Moceisuva, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the
Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, at the RFMF Headquarters in Suva today, reaffirming the long-standing partnership between the Fiji Corrections Service and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to engage in constructive dialogue on matters of mutual interest and collaboration.
Key discussions included opportunities for Corrections officers to participate in future Tours of Duty, as well as the identification of specialised courses that would support the professional development and capacity building of Corrections personnel.

These initiatives were acknowledged as important avenues to strengthen skills, discipline, and operational effectiveness within the Service.
The Commander also raised matters relating to land, including a request for consideration of a designated burial site for RFMF personnel, and noted the understanding that a significant portion of the land on which the Nasinu Corrections facility and the Force Training Group are situated belongs to the RFMF.
These matters were discussed in a respectful and consultative manner.
Additionally, the Commander expressed his interest in visiting Corrections facilities in the future, an invitation that was warmly welcomed by the Acting Commissioner.
Both leaders concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to continued cooperation and dialogue in support of national security, institutional development, and the shared interests of both organisations.
