Fiji Corrections Institutions โ€“ Nationwide โ€“ Supervisors across all four divisions conducted Divisional Parades today, delivering key messages to all personnel on behalf of the Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Mr Sevuloni Naucukidi who is currently out of the country.
Commissioner Naucukidi is attending a Strategic Dialogue on Law and Justice in Japan with the Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Auta Moceisuva, and Director Planning, Policy and Development, Superintendant Apolosi Veve.
The parades served as a platform to acknowledge and commend the dedication and efforts of officers and subordinates over the past few months. Supervisors extended the Acting Commissionerโ€™s sincere appreciation to all staff for their service and encouraged continued commitment to duty.
Officers were reminded to uphold the responsibilities of their ranks with integrity, carrying out their roles to the fullest of their ability. A strong emphasis was placed on accountability, with a call to use sick-sheets only when genuinely unwellโ€”highlighting the importance of honesty both personally and professionally.
The Acting Commissionerโ€™s message also encouraged leadership engagement, urging Officers and NCOs to actively communicate with those under their command and to lead with authority and purpose.
Officers were reminded that being charged with an offence is not personal, but a professional consequence of failing to meet standards, and should be accepted with maturity and responsibility.
As Family Week approaches, commencing next week following the Family Week Church Parade this Sunday, officers were encouraged to reflect on the importance of family and its role in supporting their professional lives.
In addition, all officers were advised to be prepared for the new financial year, which officially begins today. Supervisors urged staff to take note of the key institutional and divisional activities that will roll out in the months ahead, ensuring they remain informed and ready to support the operational goals of the Service.
Todayโ€™s Divisional Parades reinforced the importance of discipline, readiness, and leadership as the Fiji Corrections Service enters a new phase of planning and delivery for the coming financial year.
