The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) this afternoon held its Final Commissionerโs Parade for 2025 at the Naboro Corrections Complex, bringing together officers and staff from across all divisions nationwide.
The parade was officiated by the Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Mr Auta Moceisuva, who addressed officers and staff in his first end-of-year parade since assuming the role early this December.
Mr Moceisuva extended his appreciation to officers both on parade and those on duty across correctional institutions throughout the country, acknowledging their dedication, commitment and service rendered throughout the year.
โLet me begin by saying vinaka vakalevu to each and every one of you for being present here to mark the end of the year parade, andmore importantly, for the dedication, commitment and service you have rendered throughout the year,โ Mr Moceisuva said.

Mr Moceisuva acknowledged the recent leadership transition within the organisation, emphasizing that while leadership at the helm has changed, the mandate of the Fiji Corrections Service remains unchanged.
โYour responsibility to this organisation, to the Office of the Commissioner, and to the people of Fiji have not been altered. It is precisely at times of transition that our character is tested,โ he stated.
He highlighted that consistency, discipline and professionalism are key traits that define officers of the Fiji Corrections Service, particularly during periods of change.

The Acting Commissioner reaffirmed the core mission of the organisation โ protecting society, ensuring safe and secure custody, and rehabilitating and reintegrating offenders back into the community.
โAt the heart of the work we do lies a clear and noble purposeโฆ Our mission is likened to a divine calling to changing lives,โ he said.
He stressed that every role within the Service โ from frontline custodial officers to administrative staff, rehabilitation teams, medical personnel, logistics, accounts, and support services โ plays a vital role in the overall success of the organisation.
Mr Moceisuva also reminded officers of the significance of the uniform, describing it as a symbol of privilege, responsibility and service to the nation.
โThe uniform must be worn with pride to provide diligent service to the nation and bring real change to those who have wronged

society,โ he said.

Looking ahead to 2026, the Acting Commissioner called on officers to embrace organisational change aimed at strengthening systems, refining processes and aligning operations with internationally recognised best practices.
He noted that meaningful cultural change requires more than words, calling for policy reviews, strengthened awareness and continuous training to ensure officers fully understand expectations and standards.
โThe Fiji Corrections goal is bigger than an individualโs interest. Through our collective performance, we demonstrate that this organisation is built on service, discipline and professionalism,โ Mr Moceisuva said.

In closing, Mr Moceisuva expressed his confidence in the officers and staff of the Fiji Corrections Service and called for their continued professionalism, dedication and loyalty as the organisation moves into the new year.
