

It was indeed a fitting culmination to the 150 Years Celebrations.
First the Wardens Green from the Western Division, defended the Commander Kean Shield against NFA 24-22.
Then in a come from behind last gasp, the Wardens Gold clinched victory away from Police 16-14 with a try to winger Joseva Naivalu in the 78th minute.
Wardens Gold captain Kelevi Naimasi on behalf of both teams dedicated the win to all Comrades working in the institutions while the organization celebrated the Anniversary.
“I dedicate this wins to them, because while we are here celebrating they are working and pulling our shift, we played for them today,’’ said Naimasi.
“We would like to wish the whole Corrections family, a Blessed Corrections Week.”
A humble, acting Police Commissioner Aporosa Lutunauga said the best team won today, and thanked the Wardens for exposing their weaknesses as now they can prepare for the Sukuna Bowl better.
“Now let us all celebrate,’’ he said.


Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Mr Sevuloni Naucukidi said it was indeed a fitting end to the weeks celebrations.
“I commend the man from both Green and Gold for the efforts today, again we showed something about playing and sticking to the plan as a team, both games were won eventually in the end, it was not one way, they fought until the end, well done.
“We wish Police well on their preparations in the Sukuna Bowl and thank them for the game today.”
