A Team comprising of senior FCS officers are in Wellington, NZ to carry out an exploratory mission as part of the plan to establish a Parole Board in Fiji.
The Team led by Deputy Commissioner Auta Moceisuva was part of the Acting Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Hon Siromi Turaga’s delegation within the broader strategic justice engagement programme with the New Zealand government.

The Acting Attorney General & Minister for Justice, Hon Siromi Turaga and his counterpart met at the office of the NZ Attorney General at the Beehive on Thursday 9.10.25. This meeting provided the space to share important justice sector focused initiatives and sustainable development programmes within the criminal justice system in Fiji.
The Attorney General & Minister for Justice and Team FCS also had a meeting with the Director of the Parole Board, New Zealand and Parole Board members to discuss pertinent issues pertaining to legislative framework, the structure and functions of the Board, digitisation, possible challenges and insights that will help in the development and implementation of Fiji’s Parole Board policy under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice in Fiji.
The discussions also explored mutual partnership arrangements including a scoping exercise and provison of technical experts to map out a pathway to establish and build capacity towards the Government of Fiji’s commitment to establish a Parole Board in Fiji.
Fiji share a long standing development partnership with New Zealand and has footprints in areas including social, economic and the justice sector agenda.
