The Acting Commissioner or Corrections, Mr Sevuloni Naucukidi hosted a two day workshop from 30/6/25 – 1/7/25 aimed at uplifting the level of service delivery of the FCS.
This workshop was a post budget exercise to prepare the FCS leadership group for the implementation of work plans in the next financial year.
The workshop participants, which comprised of Supervisors, Officers in Charge and Heads of Departments of the Service were taken through Governments National Development Plan (NDP) 2025-2029 and how it linked to the FCS Strategic Development Plan (SDP) 2025-2029.
“As leaders on the ground it is important to understand where the linkages are from the government level down to us so we can understand and deliver what is expected of us,” said Commissioner Naucukidi.
“The way the Government of the day delivers its service is dictated by the NDP and through our SDP it then translates to the goals that is to be delivered”.

Commissioner Naucukidi stressed that as leaders on the ground it was paramount that they understood how their work is connected to the overall delivery of our service. This includes, how funding is allocated, how logistics support operational requirements including an understanding of the big picture of rehabilitation and the impact of our collective efforts on the justice sector and the rule of law in Fiji.
Mr Naucukidi added, “this brings me to the point on the question of leadership, a leader must always lead from the front and ensure that the efforts of their men and women focused on achieving the end state of the FCS”.
Areas covered at the workshop included NDP, SDP and ACP linkage, Legal Frameworks, Budget and Managing of Resources, Rehabilitation and Training, Leadership, Audit Findings and Outcomes, and the formulation of the Annual Corporate Plan.
