Korovou, Central Division β The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) today held its annual Commissionerβs Christmas Church Service across all divisions earlier this morning, bringing officers together in worship, reflection, and thanksgiving as the year draws to a close.
In the Central Division, the service was held at the Korovou Chapel and was attended by the Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Mr. Auta Moceisuva, alongside senior officers and staff. The service was led by Reverend Ananaiasa Sorovakaca, who delivered a powerful and timely message drawn from Matthew 1:20β21 and Luke 1:30β35.
In his sermon, Reverend Sorovakaca reflected on the obedience and faith demonstrated by Mary and Joseph upon receiving the angelβs message about the birth of Jesus Christ. He emphasized the importance of trusting Godβs instructions and remaining faithful throughout the process of obedience, encouraging officers to apply these lessons in their personal lives and professional duties.

The Acting Commissioner expressed his sincere appreciation to Reverend Sorovakaca for his inspiring message and extended his heartfelt gratitude to all Fiji Corrections Service officers for their dedication and commitment throughout the year. Acknowledging that the year had been challenging, particularly with changes in leadership, Mr. Moceisuva commended officers for their loyalty, resilience, and continued support to the Office of the Commissioner and its leadership team.
βWe are called by the Government to serve our people and our nation,β Mr. Moceisuva said. βIn turn, we also believe that this is our higher calling and purpose from God.β
The Commissionerβs Christmas Church Service served as a meaningful opportunity for reflection, unity, and spiritual renewal, reaffirming the Fiji Corrections Serviceβs commitment to service, integrity, and faith as it prepares to enter the new year.
