Totogo, Suva – In a significant step towards enhancing cooperation and partnership, Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service, Dr. Jalesi Nakarawa, along with senior officers from the Fiji Corrections Service (FCS), paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Commissioner of the Fiji Police Force, Mr. Rusiate Tudravu, at the Fiji Police Forceโ€™s Officers Mess in Totogo, Suva.
A key issue discussed during this meeting was the importance of close cooperation and coordination on operational capabilities between the two departments. Recognizing that effective collaboration is crucial in addressing challenges, both leaders emphasized the need for seamless communication and resource sharing to enhance their operational effectiveness. This joint approach is vital in tackling pressing concerns such as drug-related offenses within correctional facilities and ensuring the safety of all Fijians.
Commissioner Tudravu expressed his appreciation for Dr. Nakarawa’s leadership and the relentless efforts of the Fiji Corrections Service in combating drug-related issues from within correctional walls. He assured that the Fiji Police Force stands firmly in support of these initiatives, as it is essential for fostering a unified front in maintaining law and order.
Commissioner Nakarawa also took the opportunity to wish Commissioner Tudravu well in his new role, expressing his eagerness for further collaboration to enhance inter-agency capabilities.
