
Fiji’s High Commissioner to Japan, H.E Kemueli Naiqama made a courtesy visit to the Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Mr Auta Moceisuva this afternoon.
The meeting which was also graced by the Permanent Secretary for Justice, Ms Selina Kuruleca, discussed in detail the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Japanese

Ministry of Justice and the Fiji Ministry of Justice which was signed in July 2025.
On 31 July 2025, Minister of Justice Suzuki Keisuke and Minister of Justice Siromi Turaga signed the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Justice of Japan and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Fiji.
At the signing, the ministers agreed to deepen cooperation in the field of law and justice.
HE Naiqama highlighted the areas the Japanese Government was keen to support within the Fiji Justice and Law system.
These areas include the modernization of infrastructure and systems, digitization, the Public Enterprise, and all things related to the improvement of Security and training opportunities.
Also of grave importance was assistance in the war against drugs.
The meeting also discussed agreements already in place which the FCS can tap into for assistance.
