Twenty participants of the Fiji Corrections Serviceโs Duty Officers Course proudly completed the first phase of their training today in a formal parade.
This marked the completion of the five-week theory segment of their training.
The March Pass was reviewed by Supervisor Southern Division, Superintendent Tuapati Kacivi, who commended the participants for their dedication and discipline.
The 20 course participants consisted of 18 Duty Officers and 2 potential Duty Officers representing the 15 institutions under the Fiji Corrections Service.
Over the past five weeks at the Fiji Corrections Academy, the officers completed 60% of their training, focusing primarily on theoretical modules designed to strengthen their leadership, operational, and administrative competencies.
They will now return to their respective institutions for the final three weeks of practical application, during which they will undertake assignments and be assessed by their Officers in Charge.

This final stage will account for the remaining 40% of their course, after which participants will be graded on their overall performance.
In his address, Superintendent Kacivi congratulated the men and women on their achievement and left them with three key principles to uphold in their roles:
1. Be Trustworthy โ to earn and maintain the confidence of the organisation.
2. An Honest Dayโs Work โ to consistently deliver with integrity and diligence.
3. Loyalty โ to remain steadfast and committed to the leadership and values of the Fiji Corrections Service.
Superintendent Kacivi reminded the participants that these qualities were not only essential to their careers, but also to the trust and respect they would earn from colleagues, subordinates, and the communities they serve.
