𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞’𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐘𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐑𝐢𝐛𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤

The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) is proud to announce the People’s Republic of China’s support for its annual Yellow Ribbon Walk after they announced a $5,000 sponsorship for the event this afternoon at the FCS National Headquarters.

His Excellency Counsellor, Mr Li Jiashu and First Secretary, Ms Han Xiaoyan made a courtesy visit to the FCS yesterday to pledge their support for the event and also to be appraised on the welfare of their Chinese nationals currently incarcerated.

“We are honoured to be given this opportunity to support this great cause which supports the reintegration of ex-offenders back into society,’’ said Mr Jiashu.

“The work you do is the bridge between Prison and society and we are happy to be supporting your great event. We hope this first time gesture for us also puts in place a working relationship for the future.”

Receiving the delegation on behalf of the Acting Commissioner who was away on another engagement, was the Deputy Commissioner of Corrections, Mr Auta Moceisuva who was very grateful to for the People’s Republics show of support saying, the issue of rehabilitation was work the FCS could not shoulder alone.

““Am sure the Acting Commissioner will be very grateful and honoured to receive this support as it shows also how much you care about the Seven Chinese nationals under our Care and that you also recognize the importance of this event and the work that we do.”

The Yellow Ribbon Walk is scheduled for Saturday, 19 July at Nausori.
