6th April, 2025

This morning between 8am – 9am, the Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) conducted its inaugural Commissioners Church Parade for 2025 simultaneously at three locations at the Centenary Church in Suva, Kaleli Methodist in Labasa and Natabua Church in Lautoka attended by Corrections Officers and their families.
In Suva, the Acting Commissioner Naucukidi addressed the congregation and expressed his gratitude recognizing the overwhelming presence of the family members. The Acting Commissioner remarked, โI thank the officers for your relentless commitments to unity, unwavering dedication, and hard work towards delivering our obligations and expectations required of us by the government of the dayโ. Further, the Acting Commissioner makes reference to the thrust of the governmentโs expectations as demanded by the people of Fiji to reshape or redirect its strategic focus against the backdrop of the recent controversies surrounding the FCS. However, Mr Naucukidi rightly cautioned that, โWe will be failing in our duties if there was disunity in approachโ. Therefore all the officers were reminded to demonstrate a sense of willing cooperation and team work driven by a renewed commitment to uphold higher responsibility as the FCS embarks on an image rebuilding journey.
Meanwhile, the sermon was delivered by Reverend Kinijoji Serutawake who shared an inspirational message challenging the men and women of the FCS to rebuild the broken pieces and stand tall amongst the best in their call of duty to serve as Corrections Officers. Reverend Kinijoji urged all officers present to cultivate the spirit of unity, humility, kindness and above all the respect for lawful authority in the due execution of their duties. The message further shed light on the danger of spiritual under development at the workplace but instead fulfilled with worldly desires rather than putting the church as its centre of gravity. Reverend Kinijoji adds that the peopleโs expectations was naturally heightened knowing that their leaders put the holy spirit in mind as a beacon of hope in the midst of unforeseen adversaries.

As an advice the congregation was reminded that it was imperative for the leadership to lead with honesty and integrity emphasizing that true leadership underscored by spiritual wisdom for believers would uplift the performance levels of each individuals and ultimately the organization as a whole.
The inaugural Acting Commissioners Church Parade for 2025 was not just a ceremonial gathering but a meaningful occasion that reinforced the values of dedication, humility, and spiritual leadership within the Fiji Corrections Service.
