𝐄𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐈𝐍𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐄𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐒

The five pardoned inmates present today are Aisake Qiolele, Josefa Tukana, Mohammed Harun Khan, Sailosi Rokotuiwalevu, and Tang Lu.

The Acting Assistant Commissioner of Corrections Operations, together with the Southern and Central/Eastern Divisional Supervisors, joined the Acting Commissioner in formally presenting their pardons and extending their best wishes to the five recipients as they begin a new chapter in their lives.

Of the eight presidential pardons, the remaining three inmates will receive their pardons at their respective corrections centres — Luke Dikevitukana at Ba Corrections Centre, Mohammed Shaheen at Lautoka Corrections Centre, and Saula Rokobukai at Labasa Corrections Centre.

In their messages, the Acting Commissioner and Divisional Supervisors reminded the pardoned inmates that their release marks not an end, but a new beginning. They encouraged them to carry forward the positive values, discipline and lifestyle instilled in them during their time within the Corrections system, and to remain committed to making better choices. They also urged the recipients to never lose their faith in the Lord, remain steadfast in His word, and avoid returning to the path that led them to incarceration.

As they step forward into their communities and families, the five recipients were encouraged to embrace the opportunity before them and use it to build lives marked by responsibility, purpose and positive change.
