FPF Headquarters – The Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Mr. Auta Moceisuva, and the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Rusiate Tudravu, met today at the Fiji Police Force Headquarters in Laucala Beach to strengthen collaboration between the two law enforcement agencies.The two Commissioners signed an Addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) originally signed between the Fiji Police Force (FPF) and Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) on 29 October 2024.
The Addendum formalises additional areas of cooperation, particularly in the referral of cases where offences are committed on FCS premises.
Under the new provisions, the FPF will assist FCS with case referrals and provide relevant training to Corrections officers on essential aspects of investigations.
The FCS will, in turn, provide requested information to the FPF for investigative purposes, including access to relevant CCTV footage from FCS facilities.
Both agencies will also develop a joint Standard Operating Procedure to guide the referral of cases from FCS to FPF.
The signing reinforces the commitment of both institutions to strengthening inter-agency cooperation, information sharing and coordinated responses in support of safety, security and effective law enforcement.
