FCS Training Academy โ The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) has officially welcomed a new cohort of officers following a Passing-Out Parade that marked the culmination of weeks of intensive training and preparation. The ceremony signified an important transition for the recruits, who now step into disciplined service with the responsibility of upholding national security and contributing to community safety.
In his address, the Acting Commissioner commended the recruits for their perseverance, discipline, and commitment throughout training. He highlighted that earning the Corrections uniform reflects not only physical readiness but also the development of character, integrity, and resilience required for the role. The new officers were reminded that their duties extend beyond custodial responsibilities to supporting rehabilitation and reintegration efforts.
The Acting Commissioner emphasised the ongoing transformation within the Fiji Corrections Service, noting that the organisation is increasingly focused on professionalism, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making. Key governance improvements, including the resolution of all audit findings and the introduction of essential internal policies, have strengthened institutional integrity and operational standards.
He further highlighted the Serviceโs commitment to capacity building through continuous training and partnerships. Collaboration with the Fiji Bureau of Statistics and the successful completion of advanced corrections management training by serving officers reflect a shift towards a more modern, data-driven organisation. Regional and international partnerships are also positioning the Service as an emerging leader in corrections management within the Pacific.
Looking ahead, the Fiji Corrections Service will continue to prioritise infrastructure development, including upgrades at Naboro, the establishment of a Drug Rehabilitation Centre, and the enhancement of operational capabilities. These initiatives are aligned with the broader goal of improving inmate management while addressing evolving challenges such as drug-related offences.
The new officers were reminded of the high standards expected of them, including adherence to discipline, respect for the chain of command, and a commitment to integrity and professionalism. They were encouraged to play an active role in shaping the future of the Service and maintaining public trust.

The ceremony also recognised outstanding achievements among the recruits and platoons:
