Naitavuni, Naitasiri – The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) Band, accompanied by the Director Rehabilitation

, Superintendent Isireli Dausiga, and senior officers from the Rehabilitation Unit, joined schools across the Waimaro District in celebrating Early Childhood Education (ECE) Week at the Naitavuni Catholic School grounds near Delailasekau Village, Naitasiri. The event was officiated by the Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro, and brought together students, teachers, parents and community members in a celebration of learning and community partnership.

The FCS participation reflected its ongoing commitment to rehabilitation through positive community engagement. By taking part in the celebration, the Service showcased the values of the Yellow Ribbon Programme, promoting acceptance, second chances and the shared responsibility of supporting the successful reintegration of offenders. The event also provided an opportunity to raise awareness of the rehabilitation work undertaken by FCS beyond correctional centres.

Reaching communities in Fiji’s inland villages remains an important part of the Service’s rehabilitation efforts. Through initiatives such as these, FCS continues to strengthen its connection with rural communities, fostering greater understanding of its rehabilitation mandate while encouraging villages to embrace the principles of inclusion, restoration and community support that are central to the Yellow Ribbon Programme.
