The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) today marked the beginning of the year with its first Family Church Service, held simultaneously across all divisions around the country, reinforcing the importance of faith, family, and spiritual renewal within the Service.
For the Southern and Central Divisions, the Family Church Service was held at the Centenary Methodist Church in Suva, while officers and their families from the Western, Northern, and Eastern Divisions gathered at their respective churches within their regions.
The service at Centenary Methodist Church was led by Reverend Ananaiasa Soro, who guided officers and their families into a covenant of renewal, focusing on strengthening family foundations and renewing their commitment to God. Reverend Soro preached from John 15:1โ8, emphasizing the call to remain connected to Christ, the true vine, and outlining three key aspects of being fruitful in the Lord as highlighted in the scripture. His sermon encouraged families to remain spiritually grounded in order to bear lasting fruit both at home and in their service to the nation.

In closing the service, the Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Mr Auta Moceisuva, expressed his sincere appreciation to Reverend Soro for his timely and powerful message. He also welcomed and commended the strong turnout of officers and their families, noting the significance of coming together as one Corrections family at the start of the year.
Mr Moceisuva echoed the Reverendโs message, reminding officers that stability and unity at home directly influence performance and discipline at work. He highlighted that a renewed family life plays a vital role in shaping responsible, committed, and effective officers within the Fiji Corrections Service.
The Acting Commissioner concluded by wishing all officers and their families Godโs blessings for the year ahead, encouraging them to walk forward with renewed faith, strengthened families, and a shared commitment to service.
