The Fiji Corrections Service today welcomed representatives of the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) to its National Headquarters in Suva for a courtesy visit and discussions on establishing a strategic partnership between the two organisations.

Discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration aimed at strengthening national rugby pathways for Corrections officers, developing coaching and high-performance opportunities, identifying and nurturing rugby talent within the Service, and enhancing leadership development programmes. The proposed partnership also explored the use of rugby as a tool for rehabilitation and reintegration, creating positive outcomes for both serving officers and inmates.
Both organisations acknowledged the long-standing contribution of Fiji Corrections Service personnel to Fiji Rugby and expressed optimism about the opportunities a formal partnership could create in advancing sporting excellence, workforce development, rehabilitation initiatives, and nation-building. Further discussions will continue as both parties explore the development of a framework to guide future collaboration.
