Naboro โ This morning, the Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) held a welcoming church service for its newly appointed Force Chaplain, Reverend Iliesa Soita, at the Naboro Methodist Church. The service was attended by officers of the Service and their families in large numbers, marking Reverend Soitaโs first sermon and an opportunity for the FCS family to formally greet their new Chaplain.

In his sermon, Reverend Soita reflected on the readings from John 4:24 and Romans 12:1โ2, urging officers to live lives of true worship and transformation. He emphasized that serving God โin spirit and in truthโ extends beyond the church walls and into daily conduct, integrity, and serviceโparticularly in the demanding environment of corrections work. Drawing from Romans, he encouraged officers to offer their lives as a living sacrifice, allowing God to renew their minds so they may stand firm in faith, character, and purpose despite the pressures of duty and responsibility.
Reverend Soita also shared personally with the congregation that he did not expect to be appointed as the Chaplain for the Fiji Corrections Service. While he was given the opportunity to choose his place of service, he instead committed the decision to prayer, asking the Lord and the Church to choose on his behalf. He expressed deep gratitude to God for the appointment and for the privilege to serve the officers, their families, and the wider FCS community.
The Fiji Corrections Service warmly welcomes Reverend Iliesa Soita and looks forward to his pastoral leadership, spiritual guidance, and support as he begins his ministry with the Service.
