Naboro Drill Square – The Southern Division held an impressive Divisional Drill Competition today at the Naboro Training Academy, bringing together officers in a strong display of discipline, precision, and unity.
The event was officially opened by Supervisor Southern Division, Superintendent Alevio Turaga, who emphasized that the purpose of drill goes beyond ceremonial performance.
He highlighted that drill practice instills discipline among officers โ a discipline that must be carried into their respective corrections facilities and reflected in the daily execution of their duties.
โThe reason we practice drill is the same reason we uphold discipline in our ranks,โ he stated, reinforcing the foundational values of order, respect, and professionalism.
Throughout the afternoon, platoons demonstrated sharp coordination, confident command, and high standards of turnout โ reflecting the Divisionโs commitment to maintaining operational excellence.
Closing the competition, Deputy Commissioner of Corrections Mr. Apolosa Veve congratulated officers for their outstanding performances and acknowledged those who had received promotions prior to the event.
He reiterated that the drill competition plays a critical role in maintaining the standard of discipline and conduct expected of all officers within the Service.

The Deputy Commissioner was also accorded the honour of presenting awards to the following recipients:

Best Individual Personal Drill โ COC Josevata Navatoga (Medium Corrections Centre)
Best Progressive in Drill โ COB Noa Rokotabaivalu (Maximum Corrections Centre)
The competition not only celebrated excellence in drill performance but reinforced the Southern Divisionโs unwavering commitment to discipline, leadership, and professional standards across all corrections facilities.
The event concluded on a high note, reflecting the pride and cohesion that continue to strengthen the Service.
