The initiative is led by the UNDP with the assistance of the FCS Assistant Commissioner of Corrections Administration Mr Rusiate Batiratu, who is currently on-site in the Republic of Naoero (formerly Nauru)

Core Objectives of the Training.

• Establish Foundations: Building vital operational and professional skills for local correctional officers.

• Bridge Training Gaps: Providing crucial formal qualification for staff members who previously stepped into their roles with minimal structural training.

• Share Regional Expertise: Exchanging institutional knowledge, proven operational models, and best practices directly from Fiji’s established systems.

The Fiji Corrections Service expressed deep gratitude to both the UNDP Pacific Office and the Naoero Correctional Service for selecting the FCS as their primary delivery partner.

The initiative highlights a shared commitment to building institutional capacity and transforming law enforcement and correction structures across the Pacific region.
