Fiji’s Roving Ambassador to the Pacific Island Countries and Territories, H.E Mr. William Toganivalu, this afternoon paid a special visit to the Acting Commissioner, Mr Auta Moceisuva at the Fiji Corrections Service Head Quarters.
The visit was to meet and touch base with the new leadership of the FCS on national and regional issues that may involve the FCS in the future.
H.E Mr. Toganivalu, was taken through a presentation by the Assistant Commissioner Administration, Mr Rusiate Batiratu where he was updated on the current operations, the achievements in the previous year and the current challenges faced by the institution.
Mr Toganivalu mentioned that after his appointment two years ago, the FCS was the first institution he visited to discuss making the Training Academy in Naboro a regional one with the first international recruits being from Tonga.

“I was very glad to see that discussion reach its fruition with the graduation of the 3 recruits from Tonga recently, so am very happy and humbled to be back to further discuss what else we can do now moving forward.”
Other discussions centered on infrastructure development challenges, training and trade opportunities and also the role FCS can play in regional Corrections.
