𝟎𝟏/𝟐𝟔 𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐘 𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐄 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐒

The course was officially opened this morning by the Acting Deputy Commissioner of Corrections, Mr Apolosa Veve, who welcomed the 29 participants and highlighted the importance of their role in supporting the health and wellbeing of persons in custody.

Mr Veve emphasised the need for Medical Orderlies to maintain high standards of professionalism, discipline and competency in carrying out their duties.

He encouraged participants to use the two-week refresher course to strengthen their existing knowledge, enhance their practical skills and remain committed to continuous professional development.

The Acting Deputy Commissioner also stressed the importance of teamwork and effective coordination between Medical Orderlies, medical personnel and correctional officers in ensuring appropriate healthcare services within correctional institutions.

The 01/26 Medical Orderly Refresher Course will run for the next two weeks, with 29 officers taking part in the programme.

The training reflects the FCS commitment to strengthening the capacity of its officers and ensuring they are equipped to deliver professional and effective services in support of inmate rehabilitation and wellbeing.
